GIC Katowice 2026

This year’s Game Industry Conference did something it had never done before. For the first time in its history, GIC came to a city other than Poznań, and Katowice turned out to be a great fit!

GIC Sprint Katowice took place on 25 to 27 June at the International Congress Centre, bringing together developers, publishers, studios, and industry professionals from across Poland and beyond. The event was designed as a more accessible, mid-year edition of the conference with a strong focus on B2B networking, expert talks, and conversations between people who make games for a living.

Our Business Developer Kamil Judasz was there to represent Render Cube, and by all accounts it was well worth the trip.

One of the more notable aspects of this edition was the presence of a Chinese delegation on site, available for meetings and conversations with attendees. It was an interesting opportunity to connect with representatives from a market that continues to grow in importance for the global games industry, and something that made this edition stand out from previous ones.

A Strong Local Showing

What also made GIC Katowice feel different was how many companies from the region had a presence on the floor. Studios from Katowice and the wider Silesia area showed up with booths, which gave the whole event a sense of local pride and community.

Among them were our friends at Spectral Games, who were on site showing off newly announced titles alongside Medieval Dynasty. It is always good to see familiar faces at these events, and even better when they have exciting things to show.

GIC Sprint may be the newer, smaller sibling of the Poznań edition but this first Katowice chapter showed it has plenty to offer on its own terms. The mix of international connections, regional studios, and a focused conference format made for a genuinely useful few days.
